Sports Facilities

Teaching and research centers

The Institute for Human Movement Science at the University of Hamburg is located in the beautiful district of Rotherbaum between Rothenbaumchaussee, Turmweg, Mollerstraße and Feldbrunnenstraße. Teaching and research of certain fields of movement make it necessary to visit sports facilities outside the district. This particularly affects the disciplines

  • swimming
  • Rowing / canoeing
  • sailing
  • Ski / ice

The institute uses the facilities of the following cooperation partners in addition:

  • Olympic base Hamburg / Schleswig-Holstein (OSP)
  • Allermöhe rowing center
  • Olympic base, Alter Teichweg
  • BeachCenter Hamburg, Alter Teichweg
  • Bartholomäus swimming pool, Bäderland
  • Jahnkampfbahn, Stadtpark (Jahnkampfbahn, Linnéring 3 a, 22299 Hamburg)
  • Athletics hall, sports hall Hamburg (Braamkamp 1 / Krochmannstr. 55, 22297 Hamburg)

In parallel to sports training, the Hochschulsport Hamburg and the Hamburg Inline Skating School offer a comprehensive leisure sports program.

Sports and Fitnesscard

Dear students,

please note that this semester Hochschulsport Hamburg again offers the SportsCard and FitnessCard free of charge for Human Movement Science students (also sport as a minor subject). The SportsCard entitles you to use the SportsCard program, the FitnessCard entitles you to use the three studios only from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Use after 4 p.m. is not possible.

The Sports- and FitnessCard must be booked in advance. After successful booking, you can collect the SportsCard and FitnessCard from the university sports office. In order to check your eligibility, university sports requires a current certificate of study, on which the subject is named (not the student ID!). It is NOT possible to issue the cards without presenting the certificate. An on-site verification of the subject affiliation via STINE account of the students is too time-consuming and is therefore not carried out by the office.
