Research
The research of the Institute relates to various fields of movement-cultural and sport-specific fields: sport, games and dance, non-western movement cultures, trend sports, youth and high-performance sport.
In basic research, the focus is on developing and dealing with concepts of anthropologically based movement science: body, movement, health / prevention rehabilitation and performance are the core concepts in basic research at the institute. In applied research, the institute focuses on five key areas:
- Health and lifestyle modification
- Body, movement and social performances
- City as a space for movement
- Media and communication
- Physical exercise and performance
The main areas of research are reflected in various third-party funded research projects and in participations in interdisciplinary research associations as well as in the courses offered at the institute, especially in the MA area.
