Gangplank

The gangplank at the Außenalster is a facility of the University of Hamburg. It is located in the Uhlenhorst district, Herbert-Weichmann-Straße 79, directly at the Langenzugbrücke. The jetty can be reached by bike (campus-jetty about 15 minutes) or by public transport (U1-Hallerstrasse-Kellinghusenstrasse // U3-Borgweg // Bus6-Averhofstrasse about 30 minutes.)
Since its establishment in 1963, the location on the "Langer Zug" has been used for practical training as a sports teacher and later for the Hochschulsport. After a fire on the jetty, the planning of a new boathouse, in 1981, was put into practice on the initiative of the former head of sailing, Lecturer Gerhard Müller.
Today's boathouse offers a seminar room, office, changing room / sanitary room, a workshop where all repairs can be carried out. The qualified boat builder, Stephan Szczepaniak, has been on the facility since 1987, manages the facility, coordinates the sports activities of the university and is also a course instructor for the Hoschulsport.
Information on the range of courses and Hochschulsport classes is available from the start of the season at the jetty, in Stine or directly by the Hamburg Hochschulsport.
