Teacher Training Health Sciences (Bachelor + M.Ed.)
Health Sciences for Teaching at Vocational Schools (LAB)
The Health Sciences course serves to train teachers at vocational schools. Since the winter semester of 2007/2008, all teaching courses have been converted to a Bachelor's / Master's degree. The standard period of study for the Bachelor phase is 6 semesters. During this time, 100 credit points must be acquired, which are divided into 90 points in the individual modules and 10 points for the Bachelor thesis. In addition to scientific discipline, Educational Science and a second teaching subject are also studied. Biology, Chemistry, German, English, Protestant religion, History, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Social Sciences or Sports can be chosen as a second subject. In Educational Science events on vocational education, didactics, general education and educational psychology are attended. The subsequent master phase is 4 semesters, which include a six-month core internship. After this first phase of teacher training, the 18-month traineeship follows in Hamburg, the length of the traineeship can vary depending on the federal state. The traineeship positions are allocated based on the final grades and not on the chosen subject. The graduates then have the teaching qualification that allows them to teach at vocational schools (upper secondary level). The bachelor's degree concludes with a Bachelor of Science, which does not qualify for teaching at schools.
The two courses of study were reformed in accordance with the specifications of the Kultusministerkonferenz for the winter semester 2015/16. The new courses have been integrated into the Faculty of Psychology and Human Movement Science since October 1, 2016. This enables diverse interdisciplinary synergies for research and teaching through interdisciplinary cooperation.
